Targeted student support, evidence-informed professional learning and collaboration are driving exceptional 2026 NAPLAN results at Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School Matraville.Β 

The school recorded standout increases in reading and numeracy proficiency in 2026, lifting overall proficiency levels and, in some year groups, the proportion of students in the top achievement band:Β 

  • Year 3 reading proficiency rose sharply from 62 per cent in 2025 to 87 per cent in 2026, an increase of almost 25 percentage pointsΒ 
  • The proportion of Year 3 students achieving Exceeding in reading increased by more than 21 points in one year, from 20 to 43 per cent.Β 
  • Year 5 reading also remained strong, with 89 per cent of students achieving proficiency in 2026.Β 

Year 3 students in 2026 recorded higher rates of proficiency than Year 3 students in 2025 across all five NAPLAN domains, with highlights including:Β 

  • Reading: +24.97%Β 
  • Numeracy: +22.9%Β 
  • Grammar & Punctuation: +24.2%Β 
  • Writing +9.3%Β 

Β Year 5 students in 2026 also recorded higher rates of proficiency than Year 5 students in 2025 across all five domains, with highlights including:Β 

  • Numeracy: +13.95%Β 
  • Grammar & Punctuation: +13.95%Β 
  • Spelling: +11.63%Β 
  • Writing: +16.10%Β
